red clay rockets
art-space and space-art
are two pieces made from red clay. Each stands approximately 40cm high including the lid. They are coiled pieces using red earthen-ware clay. The pieces have three ceramic press moulded models of Venus de Milo which have been made and attached seeming to hold up the pieces like rocket engines. The works have then been decorated with coloured slips, indented with pattern then fired to 1140c. Coloured glaze has been rubbed into the indentation and wiped away, as well as being painted on to the surface area before being fired to 1080c. Gold, platinum lustre and mother of pearl lustres have been applied to some areas followed by a final firing to 800c. Small decorative objects have been glued to the pieces when firing has been completed. Each has been named, signed and dated by the artist 2018.
Price £400 sold individually or as a pair £700.
