'ocean and sea' pots for plants
ocean pots are named after various seas and bodies of water. They are press moulded and made from red-earthenware clay and they stand approximately 26cm high x 25cm in diameter. The pots have several fish swimming around the sides, which have been made from an original press mould and are attached to the pot with slip then have been indented with pattern and fired to 1080 c. Made as a series from recycled clay which was destined to be thrown away, they include 'pacific ocean', 'atlantic ocean', 'the red sea' , 'the bristol channel' and the 'english channel'(sold). There are five so far in the series but Im sure there will be more. They can be sold as a set of five or individually and can be used as a plant pots as they have holes in the bottom used as drainage. They would suit bonsai trees planted in them. They are signed and dated by the artist 2022.
