CND is 50! what's on your plate? |
These dinner plates are made commercially from bone china. They are individually decorated by hand with enamels, ceramic transfers and lustres using a paint brush, rubber stamps or a sponge. When the colours have dried, precise detail has been scratched through the surface of the painting. The pieces are then fired to 800c. They are durable and dishwasher safe (except for the ones with gold and silver lustre which must be washed by hand). The plates were designed as prototypes for a commercially produced plate which was commissioned by CND to be sold on the CND website to commemorate their 50 year anniversary. These original plates are named, dated and signed by the artist and sit in an old fashioned dish rack with rubber gloves and a pan scrubber 2007. Owned by CND |
